“KidREACH” is a World Vision supported academic mentorship program which seeks to “Relate, Encourage and Communicate Hope” to some of the most vulnerable children in the community.   Providing one-on-one academic mentorship, KidREACH  at Marcus Whitman Presbyterian Church (MWPC) specifically desires to support youth to strengthen families and communities.  Each child has the opportunity to build a trusting relationship with a caring adult as they focus on academic, physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

KidREACH at MWPC is offered every Wednesday from 3:45 – 6:00 p.m.   Providing snacks, activities, tutoring and Bible lessons, KidREACH is designed to make each child feel safe and welcomed.  On the last Wednesday of each month, KidREACH and MWPC join together to offer a warm, hearty meal to the children, their families, our volunteer tutors, and to the community.  We hope you’ll think about joining us and learning more about the KidREACH program.

Adult Christian Education classes take place every Sunday morning at 9:00 A.M.  This year’s studies are focused on finishing the Gospel of John in the early Fall and completing the Gospel of Luke by the New Year.  We will then move into the Acts of the Apostles.   Later in the Spring, we will move into the letters of Paul.  The major theme of the Gospels are to show that Jesus is the Word, the Messiah and the Son of God and that He is our Lord and Savior.  These in depth studies on the Gospels shows us how God so loved the world that he gave us His only begotten Son so that whomever should believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.  We are studying the Gospels by using the study guides by John MacArthur.

Our Sunday School children’s ministries, led by Diana Camp, will continue to use multi-age curriculum from a variety of sources throughout 2016.

Please consider joining us as we complete these studies and learn more of God’s word.

The Marcus Whitman Women’s Bible Study Group meets every Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. throughout the year, with a brief hiatus during the summer months.  The current course of study is a book authored by Linda Dillow, a popular  author of Christian books such as “Creative Counterpart.”   If you’re tired of worrying about all the ‘what-ifs’ in your life and want to experience the calm and contentment promised in Scripture,  Calm My Anxious Heart is what you’ve been looking for.  The book is filled with encouragement and practical help for overcoming anxiety. You will be helped to discover what the Bible says about contentment and ways to apply it to your daily life.  You will learn that you CAN let go of your anxiety and experience the contentment that comes from trusting God.

If you’d like to join the Women’s Bible Study Group, we’d encourage you to stop by any Thursday morning or call our church office for further information.
